Our Ministries

Monthly Fellowship Breakfast

Join the church each third Saturday for a hearty breakfast and equally hearty fellowship. Breakfast is often followed by a brief program or we work together to beautify our church facilities.

Parties and Socials

We will have a variety of parties, dinners, and socials throughout the year.

Guest Musicians & Musical Events

On a variety of occasions throughout the year, we invite guest musicians and some Southern Gospel Quartets to lead in our worship services. We also will occasionally join with one of our partner congregations to present a joint Easter or Christmas musical program.

Fireworks Booth

Each Independence Day season we set up a fireworks booth as a special fundraising event. The profits from the fireworks sale have been used to support children and youth programs and to do needed repair work on our buildings and grounds.

Samaritan's Purse Christmas Boxes

During October and November, we prepare and send gift boxes to children overseas through the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.

The Advent Season

We celebrate the season of advent as we prepare for a Christ-centered Christmas. The church is decorated appropriately for the season. A special Christmas Tree reminds us of the beauty and the meaning of the season. Everything in each worship service, songs, scriptures and sermons all seek to glorify the Christ whose birth we celebrate.

Our Missionary Commitments

Madison Avenue Baptist Church is affiliated with the greatest missionary society in the world, the Southern Baptist Convention. Our church supports that effort by the systematic giving of a portion of our income through the Cooperative Program.

We are also affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, and the Sacramento Regional Baptist Network.

Making an Impact

Because of these connections we help support thousands of home missionaries and international missionaries. Through our local and state affiliations, we support the ministries of the California Southern Baptist Convention, the educational outreach of California Baptist University, and the camping ministries of Jenness Park Christian Conference Center, and Camp Alta Christian Camp.

Each year we promote three “over-and-above” mission offerings for State Missions, National Missions and International Missions, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for World Missions is the largest single source of money for Southern Baptist missionary efforts worldwide.
