God's Gift

Isn’t it great to receive gifts? Gifts are free and they show that someone cares about us. In the Bible, God has promised the greatest of all gifts – the opportunity of eternal life with Him.

Our problem is often that we do not want to receive God’s gift. Our sin has alienated us from Him (Psalms 5:4). In fact, even if we wanted to “earn” that gift, we could not do it. It just is not in our human nature.

God’s loving gift to us was Jesus, who met all God’s requirements for fellowship with Him. He did for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He gave us the power to accept the gift from God, the power to become sons of God – through faith and belief.

Have you accepted that gift of God’s love? It is yours for the asking and is the greatest gift you will ever receive.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
