New Here?Learn about what to expect when visiting Madison Avenue Baptist Church
We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. How are the people? How will I be treated? What is expected of me? What about my kids? So to help you know that you are welcome, here’s some help.
What to Expect at Our Sunday Services
We have worship services at 11:00AM and 6:00PM on Sundays. Our worship services typically last an hour.
Everyone is welcome to attend our services. There is no dress code. There is no pressure to give. The members and regular attenders give as God has led them. Our music is the cherished songs of the faith geared to be Christ-honoring and uplifting. The people of MABC are friendly and welcoming. The preaching and teaching is practical and Biblical. We will provide you with a helpful visitors packet, a church bulletin, and give you an opportunity to meet the pastor.
We provide nursery care for infants and toddlers. The nursery is staffed with caring ladies from our church.
Children have their own service on Sunday mornings. Everyone first meets at the auditorium at 11:00AM. The children are led to the modular building prior to the pastor’s message. The children are taught a Bible-based lesson and participate in arts and crafts. Parents have the option to keep their children with them for the entire service.
On most Sundays, the Pastor will lead in a time of “invitation” at the conclusion of the sermon. At that time we invite you to express any spiritual decision that you have made during the service or at some other time. You may do that by walking down the aisle and sharing your decision with the Pastor. We invite you to make one or more of the following decisions:
- To invite Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Personal Savior.
- To follow his command to be scripturally baptized by immersion as a witness to your profession of faith in Him as your savior, thereby becoming a member of this church.
- To join the fellowship of this church by moving your church letter from a sister church of like faith and order or by statement that you are currently a member of such a church and have been scripturally baptized by immersion upon your profession of faith.
- To rededicate your life to serve God and His church.
- To ask for the prayers of God’s people.
Bible Study Classes
We have Bible study classes on Sundays at 9:30AM, Tuesdays at 11:00 AM, and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
Join us each Sunday Morning for the in-depth, small–group study of God’s Word. Bible study begins at 9:30 AM and classes generally last for an hour. We have classes for Men, Women, Youth and Children. Our teachers share God’s Truth from the Scriptures and lead discussions and conversations about how it applies to everyday life.
We also study different books of the Bible on Tuesdays at 11:00 AM. We have Bible study and prayer on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
